Kaskade has made a habit lately of showing up next to artists you wouldn't expect, and Wooli is the latest name on that list. "Hear Me Now" teams the two of them up with vocalist MAXINE, and if you know either catalog, it takes a second to process. Kaskade spent two decades building the kind of progressive house that makes an amphitheater cry. Wooli built his name on drops that are basically weaponized.
The song ties into Kaskade's Origin tour
Turns out it's not a random pairing. The track ties into Kaskade's ORIGIN tour, which brings him and Wooli together for a back to back at Pacha New York on September 3, alongside CYRIL and JUOS. The show didn't inspire the song, and the song isn't promo for the show. They're the same idea in two formats.
Wooli's remixed Kaskade before, and the two go back further than that, which is probably why this doesn't play like two brands colliding for clicks. It sounds like something they'd wanted to do for a while and finally got around to.
And nobody softened for the other. Kaskade doesn't chase Wooli's low end here, and Wooli doesn't dial into anything sentimental. The result sounds like both of them got exactly what they wanted, on the same track, at the same time.
